1. The name of the Society shall be "The
Indian Econometric Society". The Registered office of the Society
shall be at R-16, Osmania University Campus, Hyderabad -7, India.
2. The objects of the Society shall be:
(i) to hold conferences to provide a forum for economists, mathematicians
and statisticians of India and abroad to discuss various problems
of common interest;
(ii) to promote development of econometric methodology and techniques
in general and with special reference to Indian conditions and problems
in particular;
(iii) to undertake and organize training and research and to publish
the results of econometric studies from time to time, through its
own Journal or other media; and to undertake any other activity,
which in the opinion of the General Body of the Council, further
the aims and objects of the Society.
3. The membership of the Society shall be open to all persons irrespective
of sex, race, creed or class and extends to the whole of India.
4. The Society shall not distribute any part of its income or profits
as dividend, gift or bonus or in any other way among its members,
provided nevertheless that office-bearers, workers and other employee
shall not be debarred from receiving remuneration or participating
in grants because of their also being members of the Society.
5. At the 10th Indian Econometric Conference held in Nov' 1970
at Madurai University, it was unanimously decided to get the conference
registered as a learned Society, We, the undersigned founder members,
are desirous of getting the Society under the Public Societies Registration
act, 1350F.
